Categories explained
Recently there have been more and more requests to explain the somehow strange category names of my blog. Well, so here we go:
- Almondeyes
This category is brand-new and will contain the stuff from my former asian movie blog almondeyes.de. It will be mainly about asian movies and it stars and tries to provide you with information, news, trailers and scene-shots. - Banishing Words
Covering another big addiction of mine: books. - Clam Chowder
As I’m a long-term linux user, I’m pretty comfortable with the shell. Clam chowder is a soup made of sea shells and so this one covers all topics that are related to linux, security, technology, development and so on. - Deep Cosmos
I guess this one will point you into a wrong direction: it’s not about the space upon our heads, but the one below our feet – to be more exact, it’s the place where I put my diving experiences into words. - Gamble Zone
Kinda easy to get, or isn’t it? - Hermitage (fka Internal)
Hermitage has been called ‘Internal’ so far, but has been renamed for consistency. It covers all topics related to the administration/maintenance/changes of my blog. - In The Flic
General movie topics — everything that isn’t covered by almondeyes. - Kibosh
The word ‘Kibosh’ derives from Yiddish, but it’s exact origin isn’t clear so far. Anyways, Kibosh became a synonym for nonsense and you will find those little funny pictures, videos and so on here. - The Haunted
Besides the fact that ‘The Haunted’ is a great Death Metal band, there’s also a story behind that category name, which is related to the band again of course. Once my former co-worker unwesen queued ‘The Haunted’ in our rooms playlist, which resulted in a ‘Oh, there he is again: The haunted man’ by another co-worker. So ‘The Haunted’ became to a synomym for Death Metal to him. This already explains what this category is about: predominantly the rougher types of Metal music and related topics. - The Homeless (fka General)
Also recently renamed due to consistency concerns, and covers all those topics that haven’t got a specialized location.
Sounds like Toxic Tom’s words, the guy who plays nothing but Die Aerzte!
ROFL — of course, Toxic Tom is the person behind the story — who else?
