Arch Enemy is going to release their new studio album “The Root Of All Evil” on 28th September 2009 in Europe. The album contains a selection of completely re-recorded tracks from the first three albums “Black Earth” (1996), “Stigmata” (1998) and “Burning Bridges” (1999).

The recently unveiled artwork/layout of “The Root Of All Evil” has been done by the brazilian artist Gustavo Sazes.

Eternal Tears Of Sorrow revealed the title of their sixth album, which has been set to “Children Of The Dark Waters” and will be released in May via Suomen Musiikki (Finland), Massacre Records (Rest of Europe) and Marquee/Avalon (Asia). Like the previous five releases “Children Of The Dark Waters” has been recorded at the Tico-Tico Studio in Kemi, Finland again. Besides the title, also the tracklist and cover artwork has been published.

Amon Amarth is for sure one of my favourite bands at the moment. Therefore I’m very pleased about the release of their music video to ‘Guardians of Asgaard’ which features L.G. Petrov of Entombed. The original song can be listend on their current album ‘Twilight Of The Thunder God’.

The spanish progressive death metal band Nahemah has issued the following update about their new album:

NAHEMAH; has finished recording their new album, the second one for Lifeforce Records, following the internationally acclaimed “The Second Philosophy”. The band is at present in the final stages of editing and masterizing the new material, which will be titled ‘A New Constellation.’ In this new work, we have discovered a more experimental and spiritual outcome, one that gives NAHEMAH’s characteristic and emotional sound a new twist.

“A New Constellation” will officially be released in May throughout Europe with a limited first digipack edition. The north amercian edition will be released during July.

Miika Tenkula, former main songwriter, guitarist and founding member of the finnish Gothic/Melodic Death Metal band Sentenced, has passed away on February 19th at the age of 35 years. Although the cause of death has not yet been revealed, drummer Vesa Ranta claimed that Tenkula “had a serious drinking problem for many years”.
